My Sister Sophie

I've found recently people at places like work and bootcamp seem a bit surprised if I suddenly mention my sister Sophie, and it normally follows up with a statement along the lines of "I didn't know you had a sister".
Now as open I as I am, I don't really talk much about my family and there's no reason about it but family is the most personal thing to you.
Me and Sophie have a different relationship then most siblings and this is because Sophie has special needs, therefore we work different together then most. Don't get me wrong she annoys the hell out of me and we know how to wind each other up just like any normal sibling relationship but although we might not be as close as some people I would do anything in the world for her and she is the one person in this world I would protect before myself without second guessing.
Sophie has a heart full of gold, and normally a belly full of cake (Sorry Soppy but you do love the cake!) and would do anything for anyone... expect me, she tells me no and to go away!!
I've grown up with Sophie having the majority of attention and the older I got the more I understood rather then being jealous or annoyed, She needed it and without the love and care my parents put into her throughout the years she wouldn't be where she is now!
I am amazed by how much she has grown up and how she is becoming more and more independent (She even has a boyfriend! that's one more then me!) With the help of my mum she works at a hospital doing general housekeeping and will always do overtime or stay longer if she's asked. She puts everything into her job and it makes me proud to be her older sister.
Something that I always hold by me is that if anything ever happened to my family (God forbid it doesn't) I would become Sophie's carer and you know what? I wouldn't want it any other way!
The love I have for my sister is more then I can put into words, even if I don't show it like most other people do! I will protect her till I die and although I can be mean to her, if anyone is else.... you will feel my wrath !
So I will leave you with this, just because something is not conventional and you don't do the norm, that can become the normal to you and your family! From the outside Sophie looks like a normal 23 year old, but on the inside she's extraordinary!
See look at this beautiful face! I love you Sophie
