I'm a Rubbish Girl

I’m actually a really rubbish girl! Most people think because I like glitter, unicorns and pretty things that makes me really girly…. In fact it just makes me a child!!

I do own a lot of clothes, but apparently I have a “quirky” style, personally I think I dress like a normal person but just because I don’t wear jeans and a t-shirt every time I go out doesn’t make me “quirky”. On a day to day I don’t wear make up, unless its to cover a spot and I will just bung my hair up because I'm lazy and leave the house before 7am!

A month or so ago I was sat next to two girls at work who ended have a long conversation about make up and particularly make up brushes???!! Honestly, I was like it’s a brush what does it matter?! Oh but it does!! They use 5 different brushes each morning to put their face on!! On a rare occasion I wear make up, I use a big one for powder and a smaller one for eyes…. Yes I use two brushes and that’s it! And don’t even go there with the amount of money they spend on a primer… WHAT EVEN IS A PRIMER?

Then you have contouring your face…. Using a million and one different shades of brown/pink to make your cheekbones stand out?! WHY ?! Id rather have the extra 10 minutes in bed thanks! If I used one of my friends make up kits I don’t think I would even know what to do with half of it and If I had to try and use everything they do I would look like a clown!

My last thing about make up I don’t understand is eyebrows? My natural hair colour is dark blonde, mousey brown but my eye brows are dark brown (Hair is also another topic for another blog!)…. I don’t want to make them any darker?! I already pluck them so there not crazy bushes on my face so why “fake make them bigger?!” Baffles me!

Then you have hair…. I have about 3 hair styles… Up, Down and wavy… that is all! I wash my hair if I’m going out or have been to the gym and am rather sweaty (I’m a proper sweaty betty at the gym its gross! I often leave my “soul” on the floor after doing some floor based exercises!) Dry shampoo is also my best friend! Again because I’m lazy! These girls who get up extra early to wash, blow dry, and style their hair before there leave the house with a full set of make up on are crazy! I do have a lot of respect for you as you wouldn’t catch me doing it unless there is a chance I may meet my future Mr Right!

So most people don’t know I used to be a paintball marshal, I have flown a plane on a few occasions and was on a shooting team when I was younger! People under estimate me because I wear dresses and I like glitter… But I LOVE mud, getting down and dirty (In both sense of the saying haha) and just generally being outdoors!

When I was a child one thing I wanted to be when I grew up was a storm chaser and chase tornados in America…. Saying that, I still would love to do that… hmmm I may change my career path! Although knowing my luck either there would never be a tornado again or I will be swept up to the bloody land of Oz!

People underestimate me a lot, and I have learnt through a lot of different mediums you should never judge a book by its cover! The contents inside is what makes it a best seller!
