Married at First Sight

Almost 2 years ago, a few months after I had broken up with my long term boyfriend at the time and found out he was in a new relationship, I went to stay with my auntie to keep myself busy!

I had watched the series before but a new series of married at first sight was on the TV and we binged watched it together! As a logical scientific mind I found it fascinating and thought I wonder what it would be like! As a joke I register interest and half way through 2017 I got a phone call from the program asking to see me!

They fell in love with me straight away and after a number of phone calls and skype they asked to meet me in person!! I travelled to London and had to do tests and even had a strand of my hair taken! I was told I was coming in really late in the day and that everything would be happening really quickly if I agreed to carry on the process! I was excited and scared and they even said if the science came back correct they already have someone in mind for me!

As everything happened so quickly I only told my mum on the day of the interview, and after I told her they wanted to come to my flat and meet her and have more video shoots of me in my home place!

After careful thought my parents were really against it and as a sign of respect I pulled out of the process. The people were really nice about it and told me that if I want to go on a future series just to contact them again!

The reason I'm writing this as we are two episodes in the new series and I'm watching like that could have been me?! Such a weird thing to think I could be married right now?! What would the person be like they were matching me with? Would it have worked out? As currently I'm not doing a very good job of picking a match for myself!

I do have a regret about it as it was a once in a life time opportunity but I know as a hopeless romantic that's not how I would want to get married but the famous what if question will always be at the back of my mind........
